The Locust Tree in Flower
(First Version)
Among
the leaves
bright
green
of wrist-thick
tree
and old
stiff broken
branch
ferncool
swaying
loosely strung —
come May
again
white blossom
clusters
hide
to spill
their sweets
almost
unnoticed
down
and quickly
fall
