Featured Poems


In 2020, to mark the 10th anniversary of The Penny Blog, we began adding a Featured Poem to each monthly archive. Every month we would select a best poem from the archives and promote it along with the new poetry. Only poems that had been published more than ten years ago would be eligible; the idea was to highlight great poems we posted at the beginning that had not found an audience since our reach was so low in those days. The following year we began including the featured poem notices in our regular archives. 

This year we are taking the next step, and giving the featured poems their own dedicated page. We have built up a great list of poems in the past five years, which will only improve in time. This is the best of the best, The Penny Blog's equivalent of a Hall of Fame. If you are new to the blog, these poems are a good place to start; we hope that even our regulars will be able to find and enjoy new poems and poets here. Enjoy!
